A Jewellery Playbook - ACT 3

From a beaded object that looks like a face to an abstract ornament that frames the face: Am I wearing you or are you wearing me? MAKING FACES – A Jewellery Playbook is a new project by Manon van Kouswijk, that consists of 65 beaded necklaces and an artist publication in which the multiple appearances of beads are revealed. Each necklace acts like a secret companion, its disguise as a face is known exclusively to the wearer and is invisible when the necklace is worn. A playbook is a document that serves as a scenario or script for a theatre play, a ballgame or a business transaction. A Jewellery Playbook presents the necklaces as actors on the stage of the publication. The necklaces are activated by the playbook, and become objects that are more than just ornaments.
