Julie Blyfield broke through internationally with her jewellery and vessels inspired by the Australian landscape. She studied desert plants in an old herbarium and made special field trips in order to capture their particular shapes and colours. Blyfield took her continuing mastery of the repoussé technique – working the silver sheet with chisels – to ever greater heights. Her work is both an homage to the Australian landscape as well as to consummate skill.
